Booyabase, together with Super-A, Graphic Surgery and Wallnuts were asked to do a 'freestyle painting' demonstration for the famous The Hague Jazz Festival. We did a huge canvas together with Super-A and GS... it was all about improvising and droppin' hot shit on the spot. We did not have a plan. This way of working did justice to Jazz-music and the works of Miles Davis (the main theme for this years event). The final production turned out to be a true Bitches Brew. Check it out.

E-waste (electronic waste)

We've found a new fascination that fuels inspiration for our latest paintings. Electronic waste-dumps in 3rd World countries have triggered our imagination to create new work. Tamme and me have locked ourselves in the studio in Zwolle to produce a new series of paintings which are highly influenced by the 'e-waste problem'.

We also get a lot of inspiration from a book called 'Manufactured Landscapes' by the famous Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky. If you are fascinated by highly toxicated wastegrounds and gigantic shipwrecks we would recommand his work, its beautiful and at the same time horrible. A combination we're trying to put into our new paintings. We'll keep you posted about upcoming Booyabase-projects which will be centred around this new concept.
